You can help us get there!

How do you react when you see the flashing blue lights of an emergency vehicle in your mirrors? Many people are not sure what to do, and feel pressure to do something they are not comfortable with.

In response to a recent survey 57% of people said they had never recieved advice on what they should do if a blue light vehicle was trying to pass them. Avon Fire & Rescue Service has teamed up with the other emergency services to provide useful information that will help road users take action when they see blue lights and hear emergency sirens.

Please view the videos and read the information found on this website, and make sure you are prepared.

Listen carefully to work out where the emergency vehicle is coming from.

Look to see which direction the emergency vehicle is approaching from.

Think about the safest action you could take to make it easy for the emergency vehicle to get past, sticking to all normal road rules, signs and traffic lights.

Stay calm and don't panic.
